What is Kendo?

Kendo is the Japanese word for “Way of the Sword." It is a spiritual and physical discipline derived from Samurai sword techniques

Why Kendo?

Kendo has much to offer to students of any age and sex. It develops coordination, stamina bearing, posture and fitness. Unlike Iaido or Battou-do, Kendo focuses more on the sword fighting. Hence Kendo offers a more fast and exhilarating experience for many.

More than fighting...

However, kendo is not a sport without the social courtesy, respect and sportsmanship. It requires discipline of the mind in self-control, patience, concentration and confidence. Mastery of self is the mark of a kendo student. It is no surprise that past masters of kendo were respected not only for their technical skills but for their social and humanistic consciousness.
